  Pre-Examination Training for Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE/AIEEE/AIPMT)  
Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal is going to start a one year Pre-examination training for Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE /AIEEE /AIPMT) for SC/ST students for the year 2012-2013. Backward Classes Welfare Directorate having its office at 8, Lyons Range, Mitra Buildings (2nd Floor), Kolkata-700001 will implement the programme through the selected agency namely, Guidance Foundation. 16 training centres have been identified in 12 Districts of the State where the benefits of free of cost training with stipend would be extended to 640 SC/ST candidates (SC:ST=11:3). This year the training will be commenced after selection of candidate is over in April.
The main objective of the training course is to provide quality coaching to enable the students to accomplish success in the State as well as All India level Entrance Examinations for pursuing Medical/Engineering courses.
A. About the Course
Duration one year (from April, 2012 to March, 2013)
Time Sunday and Saturday of every week, with total 8 hours training class per week
Stipend @Rs. 100/- per month to be paid by the Agency to the students  attending at least 80 % of the classes in a month only.
Course fee Nil for the trainees, but the Government will pay @ Rs.18000/- per student to the agency.
B.Eligibility Criteria for application
1. Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
2. He/She must belong to SC or ST Community.
3. His/Her annual family income shall not exceed Rs. 2.0 lakh (Rupees two lakh only).
4. Total marks secured by the candidates in Madhyamik / equivalent examination shall not be less than 60% & 50% in respect of SC & ST respectively.
5. He/She should be a student of Class XII or above of science stream in H.S.
C.Procedure for Application
Duly filled in application in the prescribed format, as given below along with the documents like- copy of mark sheet(s), admit card/ birth certificate, SC/ST certificate issued by competent authority, declaration regarding family income by the parent / guardian in the prescribed format and 2 copies of passport sized photograph will be submitted by the applicants to the office of the Project Officer-cum-District Welfare Officer / District Welfare Officer, Backward Classes Welfare of the concerned District or to the respective Centre –in-charge of the Guidance Foundation. The last of submission of application for this year is 30.04.2012.
D.Number of candidates to be selected per centre
40 (forty) students per training centre will be selected and overall ratio of SC , ST will be 11:3 in the State. However, the authority reserves the right to change the ratio upon the availability of suitable candidate and SC, ST population ratio of a particular District.
E. Selection Procedure
Eligible candidates will be called for an interview by the District Level Selection Committee of the concerned District in this regard. Necessary measures for calling the candidate for interview will be taken by the agency. During interview, the candidates will bring all the original documents- copy of which were submitted along with the application form. Candidates will be selected by the District Level Selection Committee headed by one Additional District Magistrate, mainly based on the merit, performance in the interview, economic status etc. of the candidate.

i) The Agency will provide training infrastructure of appropriate standard, resource personnel having requisite educational and professional qualifications.
ii) The Agency will also have to provide class room coaching of weekly 2 (two days) on Saturdays and Sundays for minimum 8(Eight) hours in total and study materials of appropriate standard. Self assessment test, assessment test and mock tests shall also have to be conducted at regular interval.
iii) That the Agency shall provide quality coaching to ensure that 75% of the total candidates become successful. The Agency will and also guarantee coaching of the unsuccessful candidates at free of cost, along with the fresh candidates of new batch so that they are able to succeed.
