| Pandit Raghunath Murmu Abasik Vidyalaya |
Backward Classes Welfare Department in the Government of West Bengal has decided to construct 9 (nine) residential schools for SC/ST students in phases in the districts of Bankura, Purulia, Burdwan, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur and Jalpaiguri from Class V-XII in the name of Pundit Raghunath Murmu, eminent cultural reformer and inventor of “Olchiki” script in the Santali language.
These schools will be Government sponsored Bengali medium and will be recognized by the WB Board of Secondary Education and WB Council of Higher Secondary Education. Finance Department have already approved our proposal. Several discussions have been made with the School Education Department of the State Government for academic management of the schools.
School Education Department has already accorded recognition to eight schools. Unfortunately the project could not be implemented during 2007-2008 financial year out of fund proposed to be received from RIDF-XIII due to reluctant attitude of NABARD. However, the entire expenditure will be borne by the State Government. The construction of 5(five) schools are under construction by PW(CB) Dte. An amount of Rs. 30.00 crore has been sanctioned for this project. An amount Rs. 15.00 crore has in this regard been earmarked in the State budget during 2008-2009 for construction of the schools. | Vocational Training |
There are different schemes of vocational training for SC/ST students. Such vocational training is provided at Government costs in different Polytechnic Institutions, ATDCs, Central Tool Rooms, Electronic Corporation of India Ltd. and similar other institutions. Moreover there are 45 Training-cum-Production Centres (TCPC) under this Department where SC/ST trainees are trained in various job oriented trades. All the trainees are provided with stipends during the course of training.
1200 SC/ST’s were imparted Computer Education under Electronics Corporation of India Ltd., Kolkata and near about 71% of poor youths got placement in Govt. & Non-Govt. organization and some are self-employed. During 2011-2012, training on computer education has started for 1760 SC/STs. Under ATDC, Jalpaiguri & Kolkata 365 SC/ST persons and under Central Tool Rooms, 100 ST’s have received training. |

| Babu Jagjivanram Chhatrawas Yoiana |
Under this scheme state has received Rs. 94.12 Lakh for construction of SC Girls hostel at Salt Lake Kolkata in the month of March, 2008. This is the first allotment under this scheme. Proposals for 5 hostels are pending. List of Babu Jagjivanram Chhatrawas Yoiana |

| Belpahari Tribal Girls Residential Schools |
| The residential HS school for tribal girls students of Belpahari Paschim Medinipur under the management of BCW Deptt. is running satisfactorily. All students are provided free food and lodging. |
