Strike worthy Performance under Micro Finance
On 3-3-10, 55 SHGs from Shimlapal Block in Bankura district submitted documents for assistance under Micro Finance scheme. Their cases were sanctioned on spot and fund to the tune of Rs. 82.425 lac was disbursed immediately in presence of Managing Director, General Manager, SDO of Khatra, Sabhapati of PS, BDO and others. 629 group members were benefited.
 
In a massive gathering of SHG members on 25-3-10 at Ranibandh Block campus in Bankura district the MD of WBBCD&FC hands over cheques to Group leaders. 63 SHGs received fund from the MOS of BCW Department, Chairman of Corporation and others. Total disbursement was Rs. 82.425 lac for 851 beneficiaries.
 
West Bengal Backward Classes Development and Finance Corporation (WBBCD&FC) took special initiative to cover as many SHGs of OBC communities as possible under Micro Finance scheme of NBCFDC. At the end of the Financial Year 2009-10 disbursement to SHGs under the scheme reached a record share of 57% of total disbursement. Till October 2009, 812 beneficiaries were assisted, while during the following five months it shot up to 1798. Similarly, under Mahila Sammriddhi Yojana, which is another Micro Finance scheme for women number of beneficiaries increased from 144 to 968 during the period. Priorities to Micro Finance schemes have been fixed in 2010-11 as well.
