| The economic upliftment of the Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes people of the state by way of vocational training is the main objective of the Vocational Training taken up by the Directorate with the aim of providing them necessary self employment scheme after the training in some selected trades with a view to create self employment potentialities. |

| At the end of the training for one year, the successful passed-out trainees are awarded with a Certificate of this Department signed jointly by the Commissioner, Backward Classes Welfare and Special Officer for Industries, Backward Classes Welfare. Recently Bank Loans with subsidy are being provided under the self-employment schemes to the-passed out trainees. |
